About This Spot

Euro Bistro in Herndon welcomes you like a cherished neighborhood treasure—warm, inviting, and quietly vibrant. Arriving here, you’ll notice a sense of calm that invites lingering conversations over hearty meals and thoughtfully poured pints. The rhythm is unhurried, with a backdrop of gentle German tunes sometimes filling the air, easily drawing you into a comforting European embrace right in the heart of Virginia.

The space feels intimate, enlivened by touches of local artistry on the walls, which create a subtle dialogue between traditions abroad and the community at home. Chairs cradle you comfortably while friendly faces and attentive service make you feel part of an ongoing, extended family dinner rather than just a meal.

As plates arrive, the essence of Central Europe comes alive—not through a parade of dish names, but in the textures and smells: the crispness of a golden schnitzel, the tang of sauerkraut, or the soft warmth of a freshly baked strudel. Each bite carries a quiet authenticity that hints at recipes passed down and lovingly prepared, often accompanied by a cold German beer poured in generous measure. The experience is grounded in simplicity and care, inviting both those familiar with these flavors and newcomers eager for a genuine taste of Austria and Germany.

Whether settling in on a weekday or enjoying live music on a weekend, Euro Bistro offers more than just food—it's a place to relish moments where good company, familiar comforts, and the gentle hum of daily life converge. Here, every visit feels like discovering a well-kept secret, cherished by those fortunate enough to find it.

Very cozy, a better word charming. The pictures posted were stuffed cabbage, potato salad , a salad , chicken schnitzel, and kraut. Very good . The owners were very nice and the diners were friendly too. Nice experience would recommend.

We love this place - the food is always good. We lived in Europe , Germany and visited Austria frequently and the food tastes pretty authentic to us and the service is great. In fact, we understand that the owner is Austrian, not sure if he’s also the chef though. We were there on a Friday and they had a lovely young couple playing German music, which added to the atmosphere and was really nice. The only light critique we’d offer would be that the ventilation is not great there - there’s a good bit of greasy odor in the dining room… but that can be super easily overlooked for the awesome food and nice ambiance! I like their chicken schnitzel and German potato salad, while my husband loves their jaegerschnitzel. The place is favored by locals and regulars and one guy told us he’s been coming there from Maryland. Great place all around. We’ll definitely be back.

Wow, what a fantastic place. We stopped here for dinner with several friends and had such a a great time. The menu is varied and the Jagerschnitzel I had was tender and full of flavor. They even had purple cabbage which I love. A good selection of German bottled beers and even a Lager and Hefeweizen draft in traditional Liter sized!! The staff there is really outstanding. We felt attended to but not intruded upon. We will be making this place a regular dinner event with our group.

Third visit here, and the place is clean, comfortable chairs, they have a local artist are on the walls, ready to buy, which gives it a very nice touch. It’s definitely a family restaurant and it seems wind that is favored by the community because normally it is busy. The food is so fresh, you can feel like you can taste it and it’s really good. We ordered the weinerschnitzel (lightly breaded pork) with egg noodles and also jaegerschnitzel and sauteed potatoes! Needless to say they were fresh and delicious. The dishes are decent sized and the sauces served were really good. Mine was with a tomato base, my husband’s was heavenly since it had mushrooms and it made the sauce very tasty. This place doesn’t disappoint. Imagine yourself in a bistro in Germany or Belgium eating home made awesome food. A taste of Europe in the DMV. Not pretentious but delicious!

Great experience, even if you have never eaten in Germany. Feels like a family place, so welcoming. Been a customer for years, never disappointed. Top shelf food quality and presentation. Should go.

I came here last night and as usual I was greeted by the owner. She’s such a lovely lady. I had my favorite of course the Jägershcnitzel. The beer was humungous and the food is Phenomenal. Definitely coming back here again.

Euro Bistro is a wonderful restaurant! We came here a few weeks ago looking for authentic German food and… Wow!! The flavors were amazing, authentic, and the portions were incredible. This spot needs more recognition for what great food it brings and more importantly it also has great service. Noelle was our server and was one of the sweetest people we’ve ever met. The staff as a whole is very attentive and super fast. If you haven’t tried this spot, you’re missing out. We will absolutely be back and will bring anyone who visits us while we live in this area. Do yourself a favor and try this locally owned, gem!

Great place to visit for a unique authentic experience. There are not too many restaurants in the area that offer the German/Austrian experience. After visiting those countries recently and participating in local Octoberfest festivities in Northern Virginia shortly after we made our 3 Rd visit to Euro Bistro for their Oktoberfest celebration, after previously visiting for a standard meal a month earlier. They truly created a spectacular experience that has me planning on coming back more regularly than the once in a blue moon I previously did. Truly made you feel like you were in Europe for a festival celebration.
